 DMOZ Directory

DMOZ Directory was taken up by Netscape in 1998. However, after a few years viewers had another option, the Yahoo Directory. Later, when Google started with its own directory, it started driving data from DMOZ. Google now gives a lot of weight to the sites listed with DMOZ.
When a site gets listed in DMOZ, it automatically scores a PageRank of 3-4 approximately. This is because of the fairly high PageRank of DMOZ's directory pages in addition to the excellent PageRank of the Google's listings.
Another key reason why getting listed with DMOZ is important is because, Google knows that DMOZ directory is edited by human editors. It is due to this fact that the DMOZ listings have a low chance of being manipulated by the webmasters using any unethical or black hat methods.
Thousands of sites get submitted to Dmoz every day but only a few get approved. The reason why most sites don't get approved on Dmoz's submission is failure to meet its guidelines. Include Me is specialized in Dmoz submission guidelines and has helped many clients to get their sites listed in DMOZ directory.

DMOZ currently does not participate in paid inclusions.

Please note this does not guarantee inclusion in DMOZ, but following all DMOZ guidelines will increase your chances of inclusion.

 * Yahoo! Directory and DMOZ is an ODP (open directory project) in which websites are submitted and judged by human volunteers who look for your site to meet their proper guidelines before being allowed to be included. Because of their methods of inclusion, this may take months before your site is displayed. We have no control over if or when your site will be added. Please read the guidelines on DMOZ and Yahoo! Directory for more information. Paid Yahoo! directory inclusion is the responsibility of the client.
